Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about LIC policy premium, maturity and surrender value.
Select a plan in this free LIC Policy Calculator, then enter age, sum assured and policy term. The tool shows approximate annual and modal premium. For exact premium, confirm with the official LIC calculator or branch. Premium depends on age, sum assured, term, premium paying term and payment mode (yearly, half-yearly, etc.).
Maturity amount = Sum Assured + Simple Reversionary Bonus (SRB) + Final Additional Bonus (FAB). You can estimate it in the calculator using bonus rates. Actual bonuses are declared by LIC every year. On the Maturity page you can enter SA, term, SRB rate and FAB for a quick estimate.
Guaranteed Surrender Value (GSV) is usually (total premiums excluding first year) × GSV factor + a portion of accrued bonus. The factor depends on policy term and years paid. Exact figures are in the policy document or from an LIC branch. Use the Surrender page for a rough estimate.

Jeevan Labh is a limited premium payment plan (pay for fewer years, cover continues). Relative returns are often better. Jeevan Anand is a regular-pay endowment where the Basic Sum Assured continues as lifelong death cover even after maturity. Choose based on your goal — limited pay vs lifelong cover.
LIC declares Simple Reversionary Bonus (SRB) and Final Additional Bonus (FAB) each year after actuarial valuation. Rates depend on plan, term and sum assured slab. This calculator uses recent approximate rates; actual declared rates may differ.
